The Diva DiVinos...
FEBRUARY 2, 2007
Every first Thursday of the month...
women from all over Sonoma County
gather at different homes
and share their favorite wine and food...

This month of February, I assisted my friend, Kathy Farrell,
in hosting the Diva event at her beautiful home....
a Chocolate and Cheese Extravaganza...
Their noble lab, Willie, was there to eagerly greet us...
The food and wine was incredible, chocolates, cheeses, and wines divine...

Like chocolate-rum balls and chocolate-citrus-almond cake...
and double chocolate-chocolate chip cookies...
ever heard of "smoked salted chocolates?"

They were amazing!!!
There were homemade truffles, chocolate pound cake,

and teeny-tiny milk and dark chocolate truffles, next to

chocolate covered cherries and raspberry sticks...

There was even two bowls of "safe sex" chocolate hugs & kisses...
This turtle tray, with Diva glitter shoes,
eagerly awaited the many cheeses, like...

Cabernet soaked cheddar, Brilliant Savant Triple Cream Brie,
or Brie en Croute, better known as "Liz's Exploding Brie,"
the Amsterdam Gouda, Bucherondin Goat Cheese, and last,
but not least...

the Garlic Rosemary Toast with Humboldt Fog Cheese and...
Genoa Salami... yummmmm...
This Trentadue wine was port and chocolate all together in one bottle...
and the reserve Murphy-Goode Snake Eyes
Elaine Maria Vineyards Zinfandel didn't last long...
nor did the La Crema Chardonnay... or the Peterson
Zinfandel made from the Mengali Vineyard... and the other fine
wines and waters sipped throughout the evening...

a sweet, sweet evening shared with Diva friends new and old...

Labyrinths provide us with a path to practice change. Some labyrinths have withstood the passage of time for thousands of years. Others are here for just an afternoon, drawn in the sand at the edge of the ocean. Many modern labyrinths were meant to last for years, but because of unforeseen circumstances their time is shorter than intended. And they once again help us to practice letting go and giving thanks for the time they are with us. The Labyrinth of Life at the Sebastopol, California Teen Center reached such place of letting go and is at the end of one chapter and the beginning of another chapter that is yet unknown.

Sometimes... a labyrinth can take years to become a physical reality. In 2018 I met with my friend Deb, to discuss her desire to have a labyrinth on the beautiful land she lives on. Despite our plans and several meetings, listening to the land and finding the right spot, the labyrinth did not come to fruition. Fast-forward five years and in the blink of an eye... it happened!
